In the Perm Library named after Gorky was discovered by alternative sketches of the Voznesensky-Feodosievsky Church, created by the famous Perm architect Alexander Turchevich. In this form, the temple could be built in Perm at the intersection of Yekaterininskaya and Borchaninov streets.
The drawings, which were previously considered lost, were prepared for a competition at the beginning of the 20th century. As a result, the project of architect Alexander Ozhegov was chosen. This is reported by the portal " <url>".
Ozhegov's project was chosen because of its practicality and compactness. According to architect Gennady Vozhennikov, Turchevich's drawings found could be impractical. Ozhegov proposed a project for a more compact temple with good acoustics.
Alexander Turchevich is an iconic figure for Perm, the author of more than 150 buildings in the Urals, including the Houses of Perm entrepreneurs and patrons Meshkov and Gribushin. One of the streets of the city is named after the architect.
