With the blessing of Metropolitan George of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas, the opening ceremony of the exhibition of works by Nizhny Novgorod photographer Denis Makarenko "Season of Fogs" took place in the bell tower of the Transfiguration Cathedral in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin on July 30.
The initiator of the opening of the exhibition was the Department of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Deanery. Denis Makarenko, curator of the Nizhny Novgorod Deanery for Culture Elena Sukhova, Nizhny Novgorod residents and guests of the city took part in the event.
A total of 16 works are presented at the exhibition. The exhibition will be open daily until August 31. Entrance to the bell tower is by ticket.
Denis Makarenko was born in Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod). He graduated from the Faculty of History and Philology of Nizhny Novgorod State University named after N. I. Lobachevsky, the school of photography in Paris. For 20 years he has worked at film festivals in Russia and abroad. His works appear not only in the Nizhny Novgorod and metropolitan press, but also in such reputable Western publications as National Geographic, Riviera Insider, Peso perfecto, Luxury, Scan.  In addition, books about famous people are published in Russia with the photographer's covers. The theme of his hometown and the Nizhny Novgorod region, including temples, cathedrals, monasteries, occupies a special place in the work of Denis Makarenko.
