On December 11, Archpriest Mikhail Potokin, head of the Synodal Department for Charity, and Archpriest Alexander Zorin, Executive Director of the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission, met with volunteers who help injured civilians in the conflict zone and refugees in Moscow. The meeting was attended by more than 100 people — construction volunteers, social and hospital volunteers, employees of the Synodal Department for Charity and the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission. The volunteers told about their personal experience of helping civilians in Donbas, Kursk and Belgorod regions. The Moscow Synodal Choir also performed for the participants of the meeting.
"It's very important for people to understand that someone needs them. The most difficult test for a person is abandonment, loneliness," Archpriest Mikhail Potokin said at the meeting. "I would like to thank you all for your help, time and effort, but most importantly for the human support that people in need really need."
During the meeting, the volunteers told about their trips to the cities of Donbass, Kursk and Belgorod to help the victims and shared stories of help.
Today, more than 2,800 volunteers from the Synodal Department of Charity traveled to the conflict zone to care for hospital patients and provide social assistance to victims. They are helping in Mariupol, Donetsk, Gorlovka, Makeyevka, Severodonetsk, Volnovakha, Berdyansk and other cities of Donbass, as well as in Kursk and Belgorod.
You can volunteer to help residents of the affected regions on the Help for Help website.Russian Federation or by calling 8-800-70-70-222.
