An internship in icon painting education has begun on the basis of the Moscow Theological Academy for participants in the Church-wide competition of creative works by students and teachers of icon painting departments of theological educational institutions of the Russian Orthodox Church "Faces of the Holy Intercessors of Russia". The competition is held within the framework of a grant project of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
The internship was attended by teachers of the Perm Theological Seminary L.A. Seredkina and E.V. Patokina, a student of the Kazan Theological Seminary A.N. Kolesova, a student of the Novosibirsk Theological Seminary N.A. Kazakova. The main purpose of this professional development program is to improve the skills of icon painters, the development of icon painting education. The internship will last ten working days. The icon painters will study samples from the methodological fund of the Icon Painting Faculty of the Moscow State University and perform the necessary copy work.
The internship is conducted by L.A. Gadalova, a teacher of the icon painting faculty.
The participants of the internships will pray at the relics of St. Sergius of Radonezh, visit the temples and museums of the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra - the Sacristy, the Museum of Christian Art "Church Archaeological Study" of the Moscow Theological Academy, classrooms and workshops of the Icon Painting Faculty of the Moscow State Academy of Fine Arts. It is also planned to visit several art museums in Moscow, which have collections of ancient icons.
The internship is conducted within the framework of a joint grant project of the Educational Committee and the Moscow Theological Academy, which became the winner in the grant competition of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
The project partners are Perm, Novosibirsk and Kazan Theological Seminaries. 
Within the framework of the project, eight internships are planned for the 2024/2025 academic year, within which 32 students and teachers will be able to improve their skills.
