The Russian Ministry of Culture has allocated funds for the conservation of St. George's Church near the village of Kiprushino in the Podporozhsky district of the Leningrad region. The wooden church was built in 1781.
St. George's Church is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance. However, at the moment it is actually lost. Conservation work will begin in 2025.
The remaining logs of the eastern and western parts of the temple will be marked, disassembled and sent for storage. The foundation will be reinforced and protected from precipitation. At the same time, the object will remain in the register of monuments.
It should be noted that at the moment the Leningrad region is actively restoring the temple in Gimrek. This work will take several years. Then the restoration of the wooden church of Vinnitsa will begin.
St. George's Church in Kiprushino can be restored faster. This requires the help of a private investor or a company. "The Leningrad Region will help," Vladimir Tsoi, head of the Leningrad Region's Cultural Heritage Preservation Committee, commented on Friday, March 21.
