On July 7, a meeting of the Council of Orthodox Mothers took place in the Nandi deanery of Kenya at the parish of Saint Stylianos of Paphlagonia in the village of Siginway. The event was preceded by a Divine Liturgy celebrated by the parish rector, Father Nicholas Kosgey, and Father Isaac Mayo.

During the meeting, the priests addressed the attendees, highlighting the role of women in the Church. The discussion then focused on the activities of the council and preparations for the upcoming training seminar.

The Council of Orthodox Mothers in Kenya comprises the wives of priests, choir members, and active parishioners. The council regularly conducts training seminars for women. The last series of seminars was held in March in the Meru and Kisii deaneries, led by parish priests and students from theological schools. Last year, a series of seminars was conducted by missionary Alexander Lyulka, who traveled from Russia for this purpose. Topics discussed at these seminars include the history of the Orthodox Church, concepts of Personhood and the doctrinal teaching on the Holy Trinity, the sacraments of Confession and the Eucharist, the symbolism of liturgical vestments, administrative activities, and the role of women in the Church.
