On July 28, 2024, the IV Interregional Forum of Orthodox Youth "My Joy" was opened in a tent city near the village of Diveevo, Nizhny Novgorod region.
The event began with a conciliar prayer, which was performed by the head of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese Department for Youth Affairs, Priest Andrey Bandin. The liturgical hymns were performed by the consolidated youth choir of the deaneries of the diocese under the guidance of the curator of the Avtozavodsky district Elena Isaeva.
After the prayer service, Priest Andrey Bandin addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. "This is the fourth time we have opened the forum "My Joy" on the God-saved Diveevo land. The Diveevo monastery unites the hearts of people, and today Orthodox youth have gathered here. The guys came to chat with interesting people, with each other. A large number of interesting speakers are waiting for us. This forum has a spiritual and patriotic significance. Today we have a group of veterans of the Ministry of Emergency Situations "Phoenix". These are people who have been through fire and water. We unite not only to work and pray, but also to meet and communicate," the priest said.
Then Alexander Vikharev, Deputy Head of the Diocesan Youth Affairs Department, spoke about the program of the forum, introduced the team of its organizers and coordinators. The guys were able to ask them their questions about the work of the forum.
Next, the participants organized a flash mob in honor of the opening of the forum. At the end of the event, a festive concert was held for the participants. The musical group "Phoenix" from Nizhny Novgorod performed in front of the volunteers. On the first day of the forum, 350 people from many regions of the country took part in its work.
On July 29, Archpriest Artemy Vladimirov, a writer, preacher, teacher, senior priest and confessor of the Alekseevsky Stavropol Convent in Moscow, met with the participants. The priest talked with the audience on the topic "Young hearts and faith" and discussed the issues that concern young people.
On the same day, Andrey Vovk, the creator and editor-in—chief of the author's telegram channel in Nizhny Novgorod, the winner of the regional award "Journalist of the Year 2022", met with the youth. The journalist told the guys about the stages of creating news, how to increase their viewing, as well as about blogging and creating a personal brand.
Also on July 29, a meeting of the forum participants with Alexander Filatov, a veteran of a special military operation, a military medic, the chief physician of the Arzamas regional hospital, took place in the tent city. The military doctor shared his experience of difficult service to protect the Fatherland and help people on the front line.
On July 30, a creative meeting of young people with the artist, TV presenter Boris Galkin took place. The artist performed patriotic songs of his own composition for the forum participants.
On July 30, young people also had a conversation with Metropolitan George of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas. In his speech, Bishop George noted the importance of meetings with young people, since they are educational in nature, important issues are raised here: creating a family, raising children, choosing a life path, communicating with people, preserving traditional values. The young participants of the forum were able to ask the head of the Nizhny Novgorod Metropolia interesting questions.
On July 31, a meeting of participants with a blogger, an Internet missionary, and the host of the Spas TV channel, Priest Pavel Ostrovsky, took place in the tent city. The priest talked to the audience on theological topics, in particular, about the meeting with God that happens in every person's life, and answered questions from those present.
The forum will last until August 1. A rich program has been prepared for the participants: sports and cultural events, excursions, meetings with famous people. Volunteers attend the events of the International Festival-competition of Orthodox and Patriotic Songs "Arzamas Domes", and also take part in festive divine services dedicated to the day of memory of St. Seraphim of Sarov.
