The baptism ceremony took place in the Church of St. Thaddeus in the Armenian city of Masis. On one day, 140 children and adults displaced from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) were baptized by seven godfathers and seven priests.
A few days before the sacrament, a meeting of the priests of the city, 140 Karabakh Armenians and their future godfathers took place in the church of St. Tadevos Masis. During the meeting, the priests spoke about the significance of the Epiphany Council, after which each of the Karabakh Armenians got acquainted with their godfather. One of the godfathers was the mayor of the city, David Hambartsumyan.
It is reported that the baptismal ceremonies of the Karabakh Armenians will be of a consistent nature.
