A delegation of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan headed by the primate of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, is visiting the holy places of Belarus, BelTA reports with reference to the official portal of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
Thus, the delegation arrived in Belarus on August 4, 2024 at the invitation of Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavsky, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus. During his visit to Belarus, Metropolitan Alexander is accompanied by Archbishop Amphilochius of Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semipalatinsk and employees of departments and commissions of the Metropolitan district headed by Oleg Ovchinnikov, Honored Artist of Russia.
Metropolitan Alexander was met at the Minsk National Airport by the Primate of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavsky, and Archpriest Andrei Volkov, Executive Secretary of the BOC Affairs Department. As noted in the BOC, the guests visited the Minsk diocesan administration, where candles were lit in the house church in honor of the Cathedral of Belarusian Saints. Then there was communication on many topics of mutual interest.
