On November 4, following a liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in the Moscow Kremlin, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia held a meeting with Aleksandar Vulic, Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia. The meeting was reported by the Department for External Church Relations of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Patriarch Kirill presided over the Divine Liturgy in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, with representatives from both the Russian and Serbian Orthodox Churches concelebrating, including Metropolitan Pavel of Krutitsy and Kolomna and Bishop Stefan of Remezijan. Among those in attendance were Aleksandar Vulic, the Serbian Ambassador to Russia, Momčilo Babić, and other Serbian diplomats.

Following the service, a meeting took place in the Patriarch’s residence, where Deputy Prime Minister Vulic conveyed greetings from Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia, praising Patriarch Kirill’s role in fostering Russian-Serbian friendship. As a token of gratitude, Vulic presented Patriarch Kirill with a set of two pectoral icons and a cross.

Patriarch Kirill spoke on the unity of the Russian and Serbian Orthodox Churches in preserving spiritual values and highlighted that their shared commitment to Sacred Tradition is a foundation for the strong friendship between the Russian and Serbian peoples. In return, he gifted Vulic a set of Patriarchal medals.

During the post-service reception, Deputy Prime Minister Vulic emphasized the importance of Orthodox faith for both nations, stating that it has guided them toward paths of truth and freedom and enabled them to withstand external threats. He also highlighted the critical role of both Churches in upholding the values of faith, nation, and family.
