At Global Orthodox, we have been reporting with interest the recent statements by Russian government officials concerning the conflict in Ukraine. For example, we reported how Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova boldly called out the regime of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for promoting "anti-religious outrage" and "Satanism." And we have seen Russian Orthodox bishops address the UN, calling out the Ukrainian government and comparing their persecution campaign against Orthodox Christians who choose to remain loyal to the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) as similar to the tactics employed against Christians in the USSR.

Now, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya, has told the UN Security Council that, "Russia will not put up with the formation of an anti-Christian, Russophobic, and misanthropic dictatorship in Ukraine."

He reiterated,

"Russia does not set and has never set itself the goal of destroying Ukraine as a state, but we could not and will not put up with the fact that a misanthropic, Russophobic, and anti-Christian dictatorship is being formed near our borders."

It is again fairly unprecedented to hear a senior diplomatic official speaking in religious terms in a supranational diplomatic body such as the UN. It again shows that the Russian state is not only aware of the spiritual nature of the current conflict in Ukraine, but understands fully the anti-Christian and Satanic nature of it, and has authorized its representative to the UN to speak in these terms. This again demonstrating the resurgence of Christian faith in Russia at all levels, and the fact that the promotion and support of Christianity at the state level in Russia is a thing.

All of this, of course, is in total opposition to the aggressor West and its globalist masters, who even now are encouraging the anti-Christian dictatorship in Kiev on to new lows of wickedness.
