During the recent Christmas Lectures recently held in Moscow, educators and clergy gathered together to exchange ideas and brainstorm about how to better integrate religious education into the curriculum. 

Various resources were discussed, such as the  online resource “Clover Laboratory.” Thanks to the platform, one can improve one’s skills, take free courses, use methodological materials, and share the experience with others. New textbooks and methods of connecting with young students was also discussed. 

It goes without saying that the meeting illustrates the modern Russia, caring for the spiritual and moral health of its youth, working with the Church to teach children the basics of the Faith and the moral standards that rest upon it. It’s a reassuring sign of the close co-operation between Church and State that has become a hallmark of modern Russia. 

One can imagine if something like this was tried in Western public schools. There, this kind of Christian education is usually only possible in a private or homeschool setting. Certainly, if one wishes to be trained in the basics of Christianity and morality, one cannot do it there, where there is nothing but activists teaching Critical Race Theory instead of the Gospel, and gay and trans ideology in place of traditional family dynamics. It’s almost as if they have an agenda against normal families…

Thankfully for Russians, Russia has an agenda too; against perversity and nonsense.
