Things have grown increasingly stark in the world over the past year or so. In Russia, almost directly as a consequence of the reaction of the West to the Special Military Operation (SMO) in Ukraine, which, as was later uncovered, had been planned by the West well in advance, President Vladimir Putin finally put aside failed ideas of integration into the globalist world order  and re-asserted Russia’s right to exist as a nation with its own laws and traditions. This coincided with a hard turn to the right in Russia, and the passing of several important laws that had been lobbied for for some time, such as the Total Ban on Gay Propaganda. Symphonia, or close co-operation between the Church and State, which had been the model under the Tsars,  has also re-asserted itself lately, and major inroads have been made into public life and education to re-Christianize Russia.

This is all happening because the Russian government realizes that the only way to resist the ideology of the globalist West is with something even stronger, and that is Orthodox Christianity and traditional Russian family morality, which ultimately finds its roots in the Faith as well. This is an old realization that is finding its place again, Russia having flirted with integration into the globalist system during its first ten to fifteen post-communist years. And one can even follow the evolution of Putin’s thinking on the matter as well. Even murderous Stalin, realizing his plight during the Nazi invasion, eased up on persecuting the Church, hoping the faith of believers might tip the scales in Russia’s favor.

With few friends in the world and  no where to turn, Russia has lately been ever more looking inward to what made her so special in the first place, and created that jewel called “Holy Russia.” What was Holy Russia if not a nation that found solace, protection, and national coherence in its Orthodox Faith? When an outsider thinks of Russia, his first thoughts are probably of golden onion domes and three barred crosses. Orthodoxy is at the core of “Russian-ness” and is indispensable to the understanding of the enigmatic “Russian soul.”

Both secularly and ecclesiastically, Russia is beginning to see the Ukraine conflict as simply the visual, outward manifestation of what it really is: The all out assault of the satanically controlled, globalist West against an increasingly Christian and traditional Russia. This is a fight for the very existence of Russia as an independent nation-state with control of its own destiny. Bishops have addressed the UN, demanding they look at the abuses perpetrated against Christian believers in Ukraine under the globalist backed Zelensky regime. Meanwhile, secular authorities have been increasingly using religious language when they talk about the excesses and abuses of the Ukrainian government, calling it, “anti-religious,” “anti-Christian,” and “Satanism.”

In Russia: Massive public religious parades.

Russia bans gay propaganda, while the West essentially criminalizes any genuine Christian by making it a crime to simply disagree with the gay lifestyle. Many business are ruined by people simply expressing that their conscience does not allow them to make cakes for gay weddings. Jobs are lost by people who refuse to take part in mandatory, company-wide “pride” events. Lives are ruined in the name of inclusion, and some media personalities even go out of their way to attack all believers, such as happened lately in the aftermath of Ivan Provorov’s refusal to participate in a gay pre-game event for his hockey team. Russians march on multi-day pilgrimages with icons. In the West, gay parades take pride of place. And just like for the poor people who live in the West, it is not enough to live and let live. If you do not do exactly as they say and believe as they believe they are not beneath trying to use force and every underhanded method to break you. Look a the raft of anti-Russian propaganda and “sanctions.”

In the West...

So it is ever more clear that, if Russia wises to maintain an independent position in the world geopolitically, they must all the more embrace what makes them ever more unique in the world, and that is their Faith. This is happening really whether it was desired or not. Truly, Russia is embracing Christianity because world events are forcing her to.
