Three rock-solid men — Fr. Johannes Jacobse, Fr. Michael Butler, & Paul Lloyd Robson — have joined forces to produce a phenominal new podcast for men: As Iron Sharpens Iron

They speak about why men need men, how to become a man, and why you need brotherhood in order to fulfill your destiny as a godly man. They point out the reasons why many men are starved of man-only company, and they discuss why male-only gatherings can be so beneficial.

They explain why the love of a father for his son is essential in awakening the spark of masculinity in a man, and they relate this to how different levels of fatherhood are linked, showing us that the correct relationship between men is building each other up in love, and how we can help other men to fulfill the fatherly role in each other's lives.

They also lay out fundamental building blocks for men wanting to establish spiritual disciplines in their lives, such as:

— Maintaining a daily prayer rule, morning, and evening

Daily readings of the Holy Scriptures, lives of Saints, the Psalter, and other Orthodox writings

Regular attendance and participation in the Church Sacraments, Liturgy, Confession, and Healing prayers

Participation in the Feasts and Fasts of the Orthodox Church calendar

Meet the three men spearheading this phenominal new podcast for men:

Fr. Hans Jacobse

In one of his best videos, Fr. Hans explains how patriarchy defends us from homosexualism, feminism, and cultural marxism. In another message, he explains how men can realize their God-given potential by recovering authentic masculinity.

One of his greatest contributions to the church and to the world involves his phenominal work with young men, especially his leading of the St. Paisios Brotherhood movement, where hundreds of young men come together to learn the path to godly masculinity and manhood.

With over 30 years experience in the priesthood, Fr. Hans Jacobse is a man of many accomplishments. He is a contributing author for Global Orthodox, a senior contributor and spiritual advisor for Patristic Faith, and founder of both Orthodoxy Today and the American Orthodox Institute. He is also a senior contributor to the podcast, As Iron Sharpens Iron - Recovering Authentic Manhood Through Orthodox Christianity. A native of Holland, he serves as a priest in Fort Meyers, Florida.

Through his years of experience counseling young men, Fr. Hans has uncovered some important keys towards helping men achieve healing and maturity, learning to be truly masculine in a positive and productive way. His central insight builds upon a principle he gleaned from St. Maximos the Confessor:

"All desire, even inordinate desire, is ultimately grounded in the soul's desire for God."

Fr. Michael Butler

The Very Rev. Archpriest Michael Butler is pastor of Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church (OCA) in Livonia, MI. He has been a priest for 27 years. He has degrees in archetypal psychology and theology, and a PhD in church history & patristics. His interest in men’s work began over 30 years ago. He is particularly interested in rites of passage, masculine archetypes, sacred space/time, initiation, and in ways that traditional Orthodox psychology and spirituality can help men today become the best they can be.

Paul Lloyd Robson

Paul is a coach and facilitator for men, father of three, husband and small farm owner based in Denmark. He founded and has been organising the European Men's Gathering since 2016 in order to address the crisis of masculinity in Europe. His work there led him to converting to the Orthodox faith in 2019. Today he works full time supporting a network of men in holding each other accountable, growing in integrity and reaching towards a vision for their future.
