President speaks of his “deep respect” for Patriarch.

Recently Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a message of warm congratulations to Patriarch Kirill on the 14 anniversary of his enthronement as Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.

In the message, he specifically thanked Patriarch Kirill for his dedication and patriotism:

You always work tirelessly and set an example of dedicated service to the Russian Orthodox Church, people, and the Fatherland. Your high selfless mission and concern for the well-being of Russian citizens have earned you deep respect. Even today, when we face serious challenges, the Church under your leadership remains with its people, shares with them the hardships of a difficult time, helps those who need mercy and attention, spiritually supports our soldiers, directs its efforts to strengthen in society, especially among young people, indisputable moral and patriotic ideals and values. 

He then wished the Patriarch good health and success in all his endeavors.

Last October, Patriarch Kirill gave his blessing to diocesan bishops to go to military enlistment offices to see to the pastoral care of those being mobilized. 

“Many of our compatriots who are called up to serve...need a parting word and spiritual support,” he said, ordering the clergy to “perform prayers, accompanying them with parting words for military service, distribute prayer books, crosses and icons, perform, upon request and as far as possible, the sacraments of Confession and Baptism."

This is what true symphonia looks like. Rather than a Luciferian and French Revolution style separation of Church and State, which eventually leads to state atheism, here is presented an alternate way; Church and State working side by side for the health and well-being of society, both expressing concern for the people during these hard times.
