On August 1st, the feast day of Saint Seraphim of Sarov, a Divine Liturgy was held at the Patriarchal Metochion of Saint Nicholas of Myra in Kotelniky, the Representation of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia. This was reported by the website of the Czech Church Metochion.
The service was led by Metropolitan Niphon of Philippopolis, representative of the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, concelebrated by Archimandrite Serafim (Shemyatovsky), representative of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia to the Moscow Patriarchate; Archpriest Daniel Andrejuk, representative of the Orthodox Church in America to the Moscow Patriarchate; Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsov), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East; Archpriest Nikolai Lisichenyuk, Deputy Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate; and invited clergy. The Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the Russian Federation, Ľubomír Rehák, was also present in the church.
Following the prayer behind the ambo, a glorification of Saint Seraphim of Sarov was performed. In his address after the service, Metropolitan Niphon warmly greeted Archimandrite Serafim, who was celebrating his name day. The Metropolitan sincerely congratulated the namesake and presented him with a commemorative gift—a pectoral cross.
