On September 10th, Berlin hosted the opening ceremony of the interreligious forum "Boldness for Peace: Dialogue of Religions and Cultures," organized by the Community of Sant'Egidio. Participants and guests of the event were welcomed by the founder of the community, Andrea Riccardi. He drew attention to the relevance of the forum's theme and wished the attendees fruitful discussions.

The plenary session featured speeches by Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the President of Germany, Ahmed al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar University in Egypt, Umaro Sissoco Embalo, the President of Guinea-Bissau, Dr. Jerry Pillay, the General Secretary of the World Council of Churches, Rabbi Zolt Balla, Annette Kurschus, the Chair of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany, and Georg Bätzing, the Chair of the Catholic Episcopal Conference of Germany.

As an honorary guest, Archbishop Tikhon of Ross, who oversees the Berlin-German Diocese, participated in the forum's opening. The meeting was also attended by Father Yevgeny Murzin, a spokesperson for the diocesan information department, and Deacon Nikolai Ton, a spokesperson for the diocesan department of interchurch relations, as reported by the website of the Berlin-German Diocese.

During the forum, various thematic sessions, conferences, and roundtable discussions took place across Berlin. These discussions covered topics such as addressing poverty and social inequality, interfaith and intercultural interactions, and the contemporary challenges related to climate change and the development of artificial intelligence.
