During the celebration of the Presentation of the Lord, the youth of the Volgograd diocese gathered for the night Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of St. Prince Alexander Nevsky. It was headed by the head of the Department for Youth Affairs of the Volgograd Diocese, Priest Roman Blinkov.
Orthodox Youth Day is celebrated on the feast of the Presentation of the Lord and has been celebrated in the world for several decades. He is welcomed not only in Russia and on the canonical territory of the Russian Orthodox Church, but also in the far abroad.
For several years now, Orthodox young people in the Volgograd diocese have been celebrating this holiday with conciliar prayer. This good tradition is supported by the Youth Affairs Department.
The liturgical chants were performed by a youth choir conducted by Dmitry Larionov. The guys have been preparing for this service for a long time.
Father Roman thanked everyone for the common conciliar prayer.
"Meeting with the Lord is important and there is no substitute for it," activists of the Soboryane Youth Association share their impressions of the event, "but meeting with each of the people is no less wonderful and important. Over tea after the service, it was very pleasant to talk with old friends and meet new ones."
