On the patronal feast of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, the first Divine Liturgy after the closure and destruction of the church was celebrated near the ruins of the Church of the Holy Apostles of the village of Petrovskoye in the Tver region. Many residents confessed for the first time and took communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ. After the Liturgy, a meal and a festive concert were organized.
The temple was closed in the 20s of the XX century. The first Liturgy was celebrated by the dean of the III Tver Church District, Archpriest Dimitri Kurdyukov, in the concelebration of the rector of the church, priest Yevgeny Bashkeev.
Now prayer services and memorial services are held weekly, after each service, local residents put the temple and its territory in order. Funds are being raised for the construction of a wooden church near the ruins of the once majestic church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.
A painting of him is kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery. The artist K. F. Yuon depicted the village of Petrovsky with a church in his painting "Rural holiday. Tver province. 1910." A banner with a reproduction of this painting and a historical reference about the temple was installed by local residents near the church a week ago.
