On October 17, 2024, the Feast Day of the Hierarchs of Moscow, Metropolitan Konstantin of Zaraysk, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of St. Andrew the First-Called in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic (CAR).

Metropolitan Konstantin was joined by Father Georgy Maximov, head of the Missionary Department of the African Exarchate, Father Sergey Voemava, dean of the North African Diocese in CAR, and other clergy. Before the service, the Metropolitan performed the sacrament of Baptism for both adults and children.

The service was attended by local government officials, parishioners, students from St. Sergius of Radonezh School, and members of the Russian diaspora. After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Konstantin addressed the congregation with a pastoral message and gifted the church an icon of the Mother of God. Crosses and prayer cards were distributed to the faithful in remembrance of the day.

Later, the Metropolitan held a meeting with the clergy of the Exarchate in CAR, with Father Georgy Maximov also in attendance. They discussed current matters, and Metropolitan Konstantin presented commemorative gifts to the clergy.

The archbishop also visited St. Sergius of Radonezh School, where he inspected the facilities and gave his blessing to the students. In the evening, he led a water-blessing prayer service and a memorial litany at the Russian House, followed by a meeting with Russian compatriots.

Metropolitan Konstantin's first pastoral visit to CAR began on October 15, 2024. During this trip, he met with the country's president, who praised the active role of the Russian Orthodox Church since the establishment of its mission in CAR in 2022.
