The Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Constantine of Cairo and North Africa, visited the parish of St. Theophan the Recluse in the Chiradzulu district of Malawi on February 10, 2026. The bishop performed a prayer service and consecrated a well for drinking water, drilled with the support of donors from Russia.
After the divine service, His Eminence addressed the parishioners with an archpastoral address. The chairman of the missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, Priest George Maximov, delivered a sermon. Metropolitan Konstantin presented the parish with an icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the faithful with crosses and icons.
Afterwards, Bishop Konstantin visited the parish of Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril, a teacher of Slovene, in the Falombe district.
The bishop was greeted by hundreds of believers, including parishioners from Mozambique. Among those gathered were those baptized by Metropolitan Konstantin in April 2024.
Vladyka addressed the flock with a word of edification, and handed over an icon and a set of protectors to the parish. Believers received crosses and icons.
Metropolitan Konstantin also had a conversation with a candidate for study at a theological seminary.
In both parishes, food was distributed to those in need as part of a joint humanitarian action by the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa and the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service. Assistance was provided to 560 families on this day. A total of 2,700 families will receive food packages.
