Metropolitan Leonid, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, continued his pastoral visit to Kenya on August 12, focusing on various parishes within the Central Deanery. The Metropolitan was accompanied by Father Georgy Maximov, Chairman of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, and Father Iakov Karanja, Dean of the Central Church District.
The delegation visited several parishes, including those of Saint Catherine the Great Martyr and Saint Panteleimon in the suburbs of Nairobi, Saint George the Victorious in the village of Ngamba, and Saint Lazarus in the village of Limuru. Metropolitan Leonid greeted the faithful, offered words of encouragement, and bestowed his archpastoral blessing. Icon cards and crosses were distributed to all parishioners.
At the parish of Saint Panteleimon, there is a primary school serving 120 children, some of whom, along with their teachers, are undergoing catechism in preparation for baptism. Metropolitan Leonid delivered a donation used to purchase food supplies for the students and spent time speaking with the school’s administration and students.
