Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia expressed his condolences to King Mohammed VI of Morocco in connection with the earthquake in the country. This is reported on the website of the Russian Orthodox Church.
"It was with pain in my heart that I received the news of the terrible earthquake in Morocco, as a result of which hundreds of people were killed and injured, many buildings were destroyed, including in the old part of the city of Marrakech, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site," the patriarch said in his address.
The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church noted that he empathizes with everyone affected by the tragedy, especially those who have lost loved ones and relatives.
