Speaking at the diocesan meeting of the Moscow (City) Diocese on December 16, 2025, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia pointed out the importance of preserving the purity of faith and moral teaching of the Church.
The primate of the Russian Orthodox Church declared the inadmissibility of deviating "into doctrinal syncretism of all kinds," explaining that "they sometimes try to persuade Orthodox Christians to do this under a variety of even seemingly plausible pretexts, for example, for the sake of uniting with people of a different faith on the battlefield or in joint work."
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill also ruled out the possibility of "compromise on moral issues."
"The word of truth is in great demand by people today, they still long for the living gospel truth. And woe to him who, instead of the bread of life, puts a stone in his outstretched hand," concluded His Holiness.
