On September 7, 2024, a solemn event dedicated to the 877th anniversary of the founding of Moscow and the celebration of the City Day took place at the Zaryadye Concert Hall in the Russian capital.
Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke at the event, congratulating Muscovites on the City Day.
"As always, at the very beginning of autumn we celebrate a wonderful holiday — Moscow Day. I congratulate Muscovites and, of course, all citizens of our large, vast country on this event, because each of us, wherever we were born and grew up, has a special attitude towards the capital of our Fatherland," the head of state said.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia attended the event.
The Zaryadye Concert Hall was also attended by the Managing director of the Moscow Patriarchate, the first vicar of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Metropolitan Gregory of Resurrection and Bishop Alexy of Ramenskoye, personal Secretary of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill.
This year, the City Day in Moscow is celebrated on September 7 and 8. Concerts, lectures, master classes and sports trainings are organized for residents and guests of the capital. They will be held both in the center and in all administrative districts of the city.
