On May 20, 2026, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia attended the parade of the Moscow Cadet movement "The Bond of Generations will not be Broken", dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The event was held at Victory Square on Poklonnaya Gora in Moscow. More than 50 parade crews took part in the parade — over 3,000 cadets in total, including delegations from different cities.
Before the start of the solemn march, the State Flag of the Russian Federation, a copy of the Victory Banner, the flag of the hero city of Moscow and the flag of the Cadet Movement of Moscow were brought in. The combined Cadet Orchestra performed the National Anthem of Russia.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill addressed the participants of the parade with a Primatial address. Then he handed over the icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker to the cadets of Moscow school No. 1194 named after Hero of the Russian Federation Timofey Rastrenin. The participants were also welcomed by Sergey Kravtsov, Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, and Sergey Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow.
The culmination of the holiday was the parade of cadet schools with a solemn march. After the parade, the cadets laid a garland of remembrance at the Flame of Remembrance and Glory. A minute of silence was observed in memory of the fallen, after which His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, honored guests and participants of the ceremony laid flowers.
