Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria led celebrations commemorating the 130th anniversary of the Nevrokop Diocese, with a grand procession in the city of Gotse Delchev, the diocese's center. Residents warmly welcomed the Patriarch at the city entrance, offering traditional gifts of bread, honey, flowers, and icons. The Patriarch blessed the gathered crowd and expressed gratitude for the warm reception, underscoring the diocese's pivotal role in Bulgaria's spiritual life, according to the Bulgarian news agency BTA.

In his remarks, Patriarch Daniel emphasized the need to strengthen trust, respect, and fraternal love following Christ’s example, particularly in these challenging times. He highlighted the diocese's contributions to nurturing distinguished spiritual leaders and public figures, and he extended his thanks to Metropolitan Seraphim of Nevrokop for inviting him to participate in this historic celebration.

As part of the events, the Patriarch led a thanksgiving prayer in the Cathedral of Saints Cyril and Methodius. A conference was also held, drawing prominent scholars and clergy to discuss the diocese's historical impact and future direction. In his address, Patriarch Daniel reflected on the significance of such gatherings for commemorating achievements, contemplating the past, and envisioning the future.

The festivities continued with the opening of a photo exhibition titled "130 Years Since the Founding of the Nevrokop Holy Metropolis" and a documentary screening on the diocese's development. The first day concluded with an evening service at St. Archangel Michael Church, presided over by Patriarch Daniel.
