Applications for the Patriarchal Literary Prize named after Saints Cyril and Methodius Equal to the Apostles are being accepted. Applications are accepted by the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The official website of the Moscow Patriarchate informs that applications are accepted with the blessing of the Patriarch, and it is clarified that the right to nominate candidates for the award is held by the heads of local and self-governing churches within the Moscow Patriarchate, diocesan bishops, synodal institutions, public literary organizations of Russia and abroad, editorial offices of literary magazines published in Russian (not only printed, but also electronic, existing for at least five years).
Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2025.
The Patriarchal Literary Prize was approved by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2009. It is awarded not for a work, but for the total contribution of the writer to the development of Russian literature and the strengthening of the moral foundations of society. Since 2011, the award has been presented annually.
