The head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeev), accompanied by his deputy Abbot Nikon (Golovko), visited the Jerusalem Patriarchate on April 17, 2024, where he was warmly received by His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilus III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine.
Archimandrite Vassian expressed his heartfelt gratitude to His Beatitude for his fatherly concern for the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission as a whole and for his blessing to the hierarchs of the Jerusalem Orthodox Church, Archbishop Theophan of Geras and Archbishop Isidore of Hierapolis, to take part with the clergy of the Holy Sepulchre Brotherhood in the divine services of the feast of "Kissing" at the Gornensky Convent in Ein Karem.
According to the RDM website, during the conversation, representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church discussed with Patriarch Theophilus of Jerusalem joint plans to prepare for the meeting of the Holy Fire on Holy Saturday and the celebration of Easter in Jerusalem.
