The law banning the activities of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in Ukraine has entered into force. This is stated in the card of the document published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
"The document entered into force on September 23, 2024," according to the website.
The bill banning the UOC was approved by the Ukrainian Parliament on August 20. At the same time, the legal commission of the Verkhovna Rada itself noted in its commentary that the bill contradicts the fundamental principles of the constitution.
