On June 3, 2026, the participants of the action laid lighted candles at the memorials, and honored the memory of the fallen soldiers with a minute of silence.
During the liberation of the Seversky district from the Nazi invaders, more than 7.5 thousand people died, 784 people were missing.
Pupils of the Seversk patriotic movement "Post No. 1" continue to carry out an honorary vigil at the memorials and obelisks of the Great Patriotic War. The honorary watch is changed weekly. Keeping a memorial vigil is an opportunity to express gratitude to our ancestors for the fact that we live in peacetime and do not know war.
Currently, after being located in the church of St. Spyridon of Trimifuntsky in the village of Severskaya, the "Candle of Memory" has been sent further along the route to the city of Goryachy Klyuch.

This is not merely a personal jubilee, but a date of profound significance for the fullness of the Church as a whole, because episcopal consecration is the moment of assuming a special responsibility for the people of God and a witness to the Church’s fidelity to apostolic succession. The calling of the future Primate to episcopal ministry was formally established by a resolution of the Holy Synod in early March 1976; on the eve of the consecration, the rite of nomination took place, and on March 14—on the Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy—at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, Archimandrite Kirill (Gundyaev), rector of the Leningrad theological schools, was consecrated Bishop of Vyborg.

By the decision of His Holiness Patriarch Pimen and the Holy Synod of March 3, 1976, Archimandrite Kirill (Gundyaev), rector of the Leningrad Theological Academy and Seminary, was elected Bishop of Vyborg, vicar of the Leningrad Diocese.

Exactly 50 years ago, on March 13, 1976, at the Church of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian at the Leningrad Theological Academy, the rite of nomination took place; and on the following day, March 14, the First Sunday of Great Lent, the Feast of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, during the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra in Leningrad, the episcopal consecration of Archimandrite Kirill — the future Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ — was performed. The service was presided over by the ever-memorable Metropolitan Nikodim (Rotov), whom His Holiness Patriarch Kirill calls his spiritual mentor and teacher.
