On December 2, 2024, the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate hosted a meeting between Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the DECR, and Bishop Gerasim of Fort Worth, Vicar of the Southern Diocese of the Orthodox Church in America.
During the long conversation, which took place in a friendly and warm atmosphere, issues related to the situation of Orthodoxy on the North American continent, inter-Orthodox relations, as well as bilateral relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Orthodox Church in America were discussed.
The meeting was also attended by Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, Deputy Chairman of the DECR, and Archpriest Daniel Andreyuk, representative of the Orthodox Church in America at the Moscow Patriarchal See.
