From April 27 to May 1, 2026, Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Cooperation with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies, Chairman of the Synodal Committee for Cooperation with the Cossacks, traveled to the area of the special military operation. The bishop visited Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions.
In the Kherson region, Bishop Kirill met with the leadership of the Dnepr group of forces. The bishop also met with the leadership of the Eastern Military District. Various issues related to the spiritual care of military personnel were discussed at the meetings.
On April 29, Metropolitan Kirill met with Bishop Peter of Berdyansk and Primorsky. During the meeting, the bishops discussed current working issues.
In Melitopol, Bishop Kirill met with the leadership, deputies of the Legislative Assembly and members of the Government of the Zaporizhia region, during which issues of support for military priests, spiritual care for military personnel, volunteer detachments, law enforcement officers, as well as issues of cooperation and support for the activities of the coordination centers of the Synodal Department for Interaction with the Armed Forces and Law enforcement agencies were discussed.
