On November 19, 1941, during the defense of Moscow, near the village of Fedyukovo, about 40 Cossack cavalrymen of the 4th squadron of the 37th Armavir Cavalry Regiment, without artillery and tanks, held the enemy's offensive for a day. The Cossacks fulfilled their combat mission at the cost of their lives: they restrained the powerful onslaught of the enemy, destroying 28 tanks and up to a company of infantry.
