The Russian Orthodox Church suggests that on the feast of the Holy Trinity on June 23, visitors to the Trinity-Sergius Lavra will be able to pray at the icon of the Trinity by Andrei Rublev.
"It is expected that she will be in the Lavra on the feast of the Trinity," TASS quoted its source in the Russian Orthodox Church as saying. However, according to him, whether the image will be delivered to the lavra depends on its condition.
Recall that according to the agreement of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra and the courtyard of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour (XXC), which was concluded in December 2023, the icon was supposed to be in temporary storage in XXC until the feast of the Trinity in 2024. Next, the Lavra receives it for free use. The agreement between the monastery and the Tretyakov Gallery was concluded in July 2023.
Before getting to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the Trinity was at the All-Russian Art Research and Restoration Center named after Academician Grabar.
On May 15, 2023, a message appeared about the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin to transfer Andrei Rublev's Trinity ROC, which was created by the master in the first quarter of the XV century. Since 1929, the image has been in the State Tretyakov Gallery.
