Russia is rejecting Western "liberalism" in favor of its traditional moral and spiritual values.

For years, Russian President Vladimir Putin spent a great deal of energy and time into trying to integrate Russia into the post-Cold War global order. He only made one mistake: He thought it would be allowed with Russia's self-respect and integrity intact. The Western Globalist cabal that actually controls who is allowed full admittance into the global economic system, on the other hand, only tolerates slaves and beggar vassals, not equals. They were never going to accept Russia as anything other than another unenlightened supplicant begging for their "enlightenment."

This was demonstrated in various ways, from trying to force Russia into disadvantageous trade deals, the encroachment of NATO to her very borders, in direct defiance of assurances given, and even the attempt to colonize her spiritually, as, with the fall of communism, thousands of western missionaries with creeds foreign to Russia and her people flooded the country, trying to compete with and undermine her traditional Faiths. Multinational corporations looked at Russia, lusting after her ample natural resources.

Meanwhile, with no shared moral or religious core, Post-Soviet Russia was on track to look like any other western nation. Drug addicts, broken families, corruption and gangsterism, a few wealthy oligarchs determining the fate of millions by manipulating "democratic" mechanisms. Lewd songs filled the airwaves, groups like t.A.T.u. sold millions of records with teasing imagery of school age girls engaged in a scandalous gay relationship, titillating the public.

And although Russia under Putin was slowly pulling away from some of the most egregious examples, conservatism in Russia was still a rather marginalized thing. Religious revival under the Orthodox Church continued apace, with progress that was visible, but slow.

Then Ukraine happened.

Within days, many liberal oligarchs fled the country. Multinationals, to their own loss and hurt, left the country. Laws that were already right-headed, such as the ban on gay propaganda to minors, have been expanded to a total ban across all ages. The Russian Orthodox Church, although persecuted outside of Russia's borders, is gaining ever more influence in the hearts of the people, and campaigning for the best spiritual interests of the people with the State. Some of Putin's best and closest advisors, such as Alexander Dugin, who suffered personal loss in this recent conflict with the Ukrainian assassination of his daughter Darya in August, saw their views vindicated, and their voices amplified in government policy. Policies and laws that otherwise might have taken years to be implemented, were put in place seemingly overnight.

Russia, that great bear of a country, is finally waking up, and is lurching hard to the Right.

Ever since the blood drenched French Revolution preached and attempted to export its Freemason values of "Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity," a segment of Russia has responded with "Orthodoxy, Autocracy, and Nationality." And this segment has grown by leaps and bounds since the twin impact of COVID and the conflict in Ukraine. Russia is throwing off cultural colonialism, rejecting so-called liberal western values, and looking back to what is the essence of the Russian heart and soul, and embracing it.

Russia sees in the current conflict a cyclical recurrence; the attempt to destroy Russian civilization that stretches back to the time of St. Alexander Nevsky.  The Threat from the West that comes again and again. Napoleon, Hitler, and now, America and the collective West. Even the common people are beginning to realize that this is a true Clash of Civilizations, with biblical ramifications for the winners and losers, involving all facets of life, spiritual, material, social, business, and ideological.

In the midst of the resurgence of religious feeling is the devotion to Tsar Nicholas II and his Family as Martyrs. In processions and churches all over the country you now see their icons, and you feel the people express a sort of collective bitterness; contrition for the sins of regicide and revolution. The popularity of the Tsar's image is no wonder; he represents in his person the antithesis of everything the collective West now stands for. What the West cannot understand is that their "progressive" future, is already Russia's painful past. They do not want it or need it.

Meanwhile, the West fights God wheresoever they find Him; in Serbia, the Middle East, and now, Russia.

Economically, Russia, a country so blessed with resources, really does not need the global economic system. It needs her. Her timber. Her gas. Her oil. Her grain.

But if Russia can hold onto and deepen this turn to traditionalism and self-sufficiency, great blessings will come of it, and all of the sacrifices made to get there will be more bearable. Under Putin and his advisors it would appear Russia intends to hold the course for the foreseeable future.
