On April 14, 2025, the photo exhibition "Liturgy with the Patriarch" opened in Arzamas at the Gorky Central City Library, which was first presented on the eve of the 15th anniversary of the enthronement of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, celebrated last year. On January 26, 2024, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill attended the opening ceremony of this exhibition, which was organized in Moscow in the exhibition hall of the Patriarchal Museum of Church Art in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. Later, the exhibition "Liturgy with the Patriarch" was also presented in Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod.
Before the opening ceremony of the exposition in Arzamas, the choir of the Arzamas Resurrection Cathedral conducted by Regent Natalia Pchelina performed.
The exhibition was opened by Bishop Filaret of Dalnekonstantinovsky, Vicar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese, Dean of Arzamas. Among the guests of honor were Vladimir Ershov, Deputy Chairman of the Duma of the Arzamas city district, Mikhail Gusev, First Deputy head of the city district administration, Natalia Kocheshkova, director of the Department of Culture of the city district administration, Yulia Zalyalieva, director of the Arzamas Orthodox Gymnasium named after the Holy Martyrs Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov and their Mother Sofia, students and teachers of the city schools.
The exhibition, organized by the Patriarch's Press Service, the Synodal Department for Church-Society Relations and the Media, the Christ the Savior Cathedral Foundation with the support of the Peter Baryshnikov Foundation, the Russian Peace Foundation and the ProLab Center, brought together over 300 photographs and videos. They captured the key moments of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill's ministry over the past 15 years, including worship services in Russian regions and attending various events, including abroad.
Special emphasis is placed on the work of photojournalists from the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese who covered the visits of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church to the Nizhny Novgorod Metropolis. The exhibition also fulfills an educational mission: through audio-visual materials, guests get acquainted with the structure of the Divine Liturgy, its symbols, texts and chants.
The exposition is divided into 11 thematic blocks corresponding to the main stages of the Liturgy. According to the organizers, the goal of the project is not only to reflect the milestones of the Patriarch's ministry, but also to reveal to a wide audience the spiritual depth of the main Christian worship service.
The exhibition will run until April 27.
