According to the message ria.ru The facades of the church of Nikola Zayatsky, built in the XVIII century, will be restored to return the temple to its historical appearance, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his Telegram channel.
"We will preserve the facades of the church of Nikola Zayatsky in Zamoskvorechye. It is located in the very center of Moscow in 2nd Raushsky Lane and is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance... Let's start with the priority work, and we plan to develop a project for the comprehensive restoration of facades, which will preserve the historical appearance of the church," Sobyanin said.
The history of the church dates back to the beginning of the XVII century, and the extant building was built in 1749-1754. The restoration work of the church took place in the 1990s. Now the brickwork on the facade has collapsed in places, the plaster has cracked and the paint layer is peeling.
Since May 2023, the Synodal Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church for Cooperation with the Cossacks has been located at the temple.
