The Holy Martyr Epimachus was originally from Egypt. For a long time he lived as a hermit on Mount Pelusia. During the persecution of Christians in Alexandria (circa 250), Saint Epimachus, dusty with zeal for his true faith, came to the city, destroyed pagan names, and fearlessly confessed the teachings of Christ. For this, the saint was betrayed to the martyrs. Among the people who saw his torment, there was a woman with a sick eye; a drop of the martyr's blood healed the sick one. After the cruel torments, the saint was beheaded with a sword.
