Deputies of the Bulgarian parliament demanded to submit a report of the State Agency for National Security, on the basis of which three representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) were expelled from the country, including Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeev), rector of the metochion in Sofia.
This report "no one has seen, no one knows what is written there," but it is known that it was compiled on the basis of "external data," said the leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, Cornelia Ninova. "If the representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church were spies, then they had to be arrested, an investigation had to be conducted and its materials handed over to the court, since they do not have diplomatic status. It is obvious that against them (representatives of the ROC - approx. TASS) there is no serious evidence, and that is why they were hurried out of the country. We want to know the truth," Ninova said from the parliamentary rostrum, demanding to hear the head of the special service in parliament and submit a corresponding report. The meeting was broadcast on the official website of the Bulgarian People's Assembly.
Parliament Speaker Rosen Zhelyazkov said that the head of the State National Security Agency, Plamen Tonchev, is on a business trip until the end of September. However, Zhelyazkov added, the relevant report, marked "secret", will be handed over to deputies in the office of the parliament for review.
