A special prayer for the health of Patriarch Neophyte was composed in the Bulgarian Patriarchate. It will be read today in all churches of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. The text of the prayer is published on the official website of the Bulgarian Church.

Yesterday in Sofia, in the church of the Holy Great Martyr Marina, a prayer service for the health of Patriarch Neophyte was held, followed by the consecration of oil. The Liturgy was led by Bishop Polycarp of Belograd in the concelebration of numerous clergy of the Bulgarian Church.

Earlier, on November 29, the Holy Synod announced that Patriarch Neophyte of Bulgaria was hospitalized at the Military Medical Academy in Sofia due to an exacerbation of chronic lung disease.

According to the Bulgarian Patriarchate, the 78-year-old Patriarch's health is stable, he is under medical supervision.

I sincerely thank all of you for praying for me. I know that this prayer is daily, the whole Church prays, and, probably, without this prayer it would be impossible to carry out the Patriarchal ministry. But when they pray for me on this day, a personal day, with which the very appearance of a person in life is connected, then, I think, this prayer is heard by the Lord, and help is poured out on the one for whom they pray. And through those present here, I thank all of you now, my dear bishops, fathers, brothers and sisters, who today, all over the face of our earth, in all the fullness of our Church, have been offering up prayers for the Patriarch.
