On Russia's Pikabu website, a lady called Katarbuz posted some stunning photographs of her favorite travel destination. She says that when people see her vacation photos, people constantly ask,

"Is this Norway? Switzerland? Iceland? A canyon in Colorado?"

It is neither in America, nor in Europe. Several great photos can be seen below. Saving the best for last, at the end of the article we included a breathtaking video of the scenery. By looking at the photos alone, would you have ever guessed that all of these places are located in Kyrgyzstan?

Kyrgysztan is not only home to beautiful landscapes, but also to many beautiful churches. All across Kyrgysztan there are many places of worship, all under the jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church. For example, the church of the Holy Trinity can be found in the center of the city of Karakol.

It was built from hewn logs in 1894-1895. on the site of a brick church destroyed during the earthquake. The facade of the church is decorated with carvings; the bell tower is located at the top. On the roof you can see gilded domes, traditional for Orthodox churches:

This beautiful church was built in the likeness of ancient Russian churches. It houses the relics of multiple martyrs, as well as the miraculous icon of the Tikhvin Mother of God, painted 116 years ago in Athens.

The Holy Trinity Orthodox Church was restored in the late 1980s, and is now open to both believers and tourists.

Who knew that Kyrgyzstan had such incredible destinations? Formerly a part of the Soviet Union, this lovely Asian country has some of the most beautiful views on the planet.
