Rom. 13:1-10; Mt. 12:30-37

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things” [Mt. 12:35].  Whatever you put into the treasure, the same you will get back: put in gold ─ get back gold, put in copper ─ get back copper.  To be sure, copper can be used as counterfeit for gold, but the forgery will be immediately exposed.

How can we make sure that our treasure has only gold, that is, the treasure of our heart has only good?  Our heart, by its nature, was created as a treasure of good things: evil entered it later.  So, take a surgical knife of attention and relentlessness and apply it to yourself: find what is unnatural in your heart and cut it off.  Evil elements will go, one by one, until only good ones remain. 

The main issue is the discernment between natural and unnatural.  Don’t even listen to modern “natural scientists”: they have everything upside down, with good called evil and evil called good.  Look what the Lord says in the Gospels, what the Apostles say in the New Testament writings, and following their guidance, determine what is natural. 

As the result you will gather much good and could bring it forth from your heart.  Pray to the Holy Spirit: “O treasure of good things, assemble the good in my heart!...
