Acts 10:21-33; Jn. 7:1-13

The world cannot hate you; but Me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil” [Jn. 7:7].  The Lord did not address this to His disciples; to them He said later that the world would hate and persecute them too, because He took them out of the world.

Thus, notice what the world hates and find out where the realm of Christ is: the stronger the hate, the closer its object is to Christ, in better agreement with His spirit.  Though it is an external indicator, it is good enough as a first step.

The world does not act on its own behalf; it is moved into action by its prince ─ Satan, whose works the Lord has destroyed and keeps destroying in the souls of the faithful and through the faithful.  Satan cannot harm the Lord directly, so, his rage strikes those who believe in the Lord, to annoy the Lord by annoying them.  And here again he does not strike the faithful directly, but through his agencies of all sort which fill the world.

This does not mean, however, that Satan is strong: have no fear of him, take courage, for the Lord has overcome the world and its prince [Jn. 16:33].  If you don’t give in, you are invincible for Satan.
