No Liturgy ─ no New Testament reading appointed
“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good” [Pr. 15:3]: if only the humans always kept that in mind! Not only would they never indulge in open iniquities of the flesh; they would also guard their mind and heart from anything displeasing the Lord. They would be like soldiers standing in ranks before the king at attention, concerned with their battle orders, lest by omitting or forgetting something they call king’s wrath and punishment upon themselves.
Our battle orders are Lord’s commandments. They define what kind of mindset, what kind of feelings and desires we ought to have. Should we have followed them, we would have been beyond reproach.
