Mid-Pentecost
Acts 14:6-18; Jn. 7:14-30
On Mid-Pentecost a voice is heard from the Lord: “If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink” [Jn. 7:37]. If so, let us all come unto Him. No matter what you thirst for, if it isn’t against the Spirit of the Lord, you will certainly get it.
If you thirst for knowledge, come unto the Lord, for He is the only light which truly enlightens everyone. If you thirst for the remission of sins and assuaging your conscience, come unto the Lord, for He has taken on the sins of the whole world, brought them up to the Cross and destroyed their record. If you thirst for the peace of heart, come unto the Lord, for He is the treasure which will make you forget all your sorrows and reject all earthly goods for the sake of possessing Him alone.
If you seek strength ─ He has all strength; if you seek glory ─ He has the heavenly glory; if you seek freedom ─ He grants you true freedom. He will resolve all our doubts, break all chains of our passions, dispel all sorrows and pains, empower us to overcome all hurdles, all temptations and traps of the enemy and set our spiritual life to the right track. Let us all come unto the Lord!
