2Cor. 7:1-10; Mk. 1:29-35
“In the morning, rising up a great while before day, He went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed” [Mk. 1:35]. This is an example to follow in getting up early and dedicate the beginning of the day to prayer and solitude. At this time our soul is fresh, light and translucent, like the morning air; naturally, the soul is yearning for its only real joy ─ for the Heavenly Father, for the company of the saints and angels. Better let it happen in the morning rather than later, when the earthly affairs of the day overburden your soul.
The Lord is in charge of everything: only make sure to take a blessing from Him for anything you are about to do, and you will get the needed guidance and support. Hasten to come to Him with your heart and mind, alone, early in the morning, before anything gets in your way, confess before Him your plans and concerns, ask Him for His help. If you tune yourself up at the morning hour by a thoughtful prayer, your whole day will be godly, prayerful and thoughtful, filled with prudence and harmony in actions and personal relations. This is a reward for your effort in the morning solitude ─ an effort helpful for everyone, conducive to any good achievement.
