Acts 12:1-11; Jn. 8:31-42
The Lord said: “If the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” [Jn. 8:36]. That’s where true freedom is!
Your mind is bound with the bonds of ignorance, errors, superstitions, doubts; the mind struggles, but it cannot escape from these bonds. Cleave to the Lord, and He will dispel the darkness, he will break all bonds which torment your mind. Your will is taken captive by the passions which deprive it of its freedom; the will struggles, as if bound by hand and foot, and cannot escape. But cleave to the Lord, and He will give you strength lake that of Sampson of old, and break all bonds of evil that hold you captive. Your heart, beset by endless worries, doesn’t know peace; but cleave to the Lord, and He will comfort you, and you will gain inner peace and clear vision of the world around, and you will smoothly and steadily follow the Lord through the darkness and sorrows of this life, to the blessed, joyful and boundless eternity.
